Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment
of the Diocese of St. Petersburg - 1968-2008

Bishop's Easter Message
(En Espa
ñol)

My sisters and brothers,

We come forth out of the desert of Lent to light and new life.  Christ’s death and resurrection reveal God’s perfect gift of love to us; a love that overcomes even death. We too experience the Paschal Mystery in our lives. We are daily called to die to selfish desires and to be born again aflame with the love of Christ.

In the midst of trials and sufferings in our lives we see the hope of the resurrection, the stone rolled away and the empty tomb. We are strengthened in our journey by Christ, present with us still today in the Eucharist. This Easter, I pray that you discover anew the hope of the risen Lord and to feel profoundly that “we love because he first loved us,” I John 4:19.

With prayers and best wishes, I am

Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Robert N. Lynch
